Women’s Gold Medalists | Rio 2016 

Wendy Fox is a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator with degrees in both Philosophy and Design. Her work ranges from information design and branding through to conceptual image making with a focus on culture, the environment and creating positive change. Wendy’s anthropological approach to design problems is complemented by her sensitivity, compassion and background in healthcare architecture. Having worked in Melbourne and New York in a variety of design studios and disciplines, Wendy is happily based in Melbourne with her husband and two children.

She has received award recognition from the Premier’s Design Awards, AGDA, AIAP Women in Design Award, American Illustration, HOW Magazine, Creative Quarterly, Luerzer's Archive 200 best Illustrator's Worldwide, 3x3 Magazine, Desktop Magazine, the Association of Illustrator's and the Society of Illustrators NY.

Wendy is the creator of Women's Gold Medalists in which she illustrated and documented all the women who won gold medals in the London and Rio Olympics. The purpose of the project is to represent female athletes as role models as well as showing the athletic potential of women by celebrating diversity in body types. The Rio addition to the project was possible as the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign run during the Olympics. It received incredible media coverage from Wired, The Chicago Tribune, HOW, Print, GOOD, The Sydney Morning Herald, Forbes, Upworthy, A Mighty Girl and NATO's Chapter for Women. The project includes a book, poster, interactive website and short animation.
